Monologue - An Artist

[Scene: In the streets of Toulouse. An easel is in front of you and a paintbrush is in your hand. You are wearing a white painter's coat and beret]
"I don't know how you're going to take this, but I have something really important to tell you. For the past few years, I have been devoted to only one thing. And that is art.[Say next line dreamily] I have always loved how emotion can be brought out by things that I make. For I am an artist, and every artist should live solely for their work.
[Say next section cheerfully] "My favorite tools are pens and a pencil, but I also love watercolors and paints. Every morning, I sit out on a hill by my house and sketch the things I see. Every afternoon, I come down here to the street and paint the buildings. And every night, after dinner and before bed, I look out my window and try to draw the moon among the sky with my pens. Art is my world!
My jobs can also pay well. This painting..."
[Hold up a terrible drawing made of doodles and scribbles, like something a child would draw]
"...sold for three million dollars last week. This one..."
[Hold up another drawing made of doodles and scribbles]
"...was bought for five million just yesterday. And this one..."
[Another doodle and scribble drawing]
"...is being given an award for Most Inspirational Painting of the Year. I guess some people just have art in their blood.
