According to me, the man who is lying on the floor is an important bussinessman. During a party, he met the sexy woman with the red dress on the drawing, who had charmed him. He thought it was love at first sight: she was so beautiful, so attractive!
So, the man (who is maybe called Henry, or Charles, or James) invited her at his huge manor house for Christmas. He hasn't got any children, so it would be a romantic dinner! At first, the dinner was really pleasant, but while he went to the kitchen (to take a very expensive bottle of wine), the sexy woman (perhaps called Jane, or Angie, or Eleanor) put some poison in his champagne glass...
He came back with the bottle of wine, he drank his champagne glass... He started seeing stars around him, so he walked as far as the living room, and he fainted on the rug of the living room!
Next, she opened the presents that the bussinessman had bought for her (she thought he mustn't meet women very often... there were only books!) and she put them back down. Then, she went upstairs to take a gun she had hidden in her coat and she went back downstairs to kill him!
Actually, she was a hit-woman, who had been employed by an ennemy of the millionaire... One mustn't trust sexy women with a red dress...
